Larry plays alto and tenor saxophones, flute, and sings backup vocals.  He graduated from Dreher HS, Columbia, SC in 1966 and from USC in 1970.  At Carolina, he was a cadet in Air Force ROTC and was commissioned a Lieutenant in the Air Force upon graduation.  He served 27 years in such exotic places as Texas, Illinois, Wisconsin, Florida, Alaska, Europe, Pacific Rim countries, Hawaii, and most points in between.  Over the years he kept his musical skills honed playing mostly in church until the EPICS regrouped in 2000.  He now resides near Tampa Florida with his lovely bride – Cheri – actually she is his first wife – proving he married a GOOD woman the first time - one who could actually tolerate him.  They have been happily married over 30 years and have two children – Aaron and Melissa. Larry is currently employed as the contract Emergency Manager for MacDill AFB, FL, home of Central Command.

Of course his musical exploits are not limited to SC.  Larry plays in 2 praise bands and routinely plays as a visiting performer at a number or churches and other Christian organizations.  He also plays (with his computer) as a solo freelance musician at various venues – restaurants, weddings, street parties, senior citizen centers, etc. Here he plays a “tasteful” mix of jazz, Latin, blues, rock and roll, praise, and old standards.

Their ultimate goal is to move back “home” to be closer to the band and all our friends.
