The Sensational Epics were formed in 1963 as a five-piece group based in Columbia, South Carolina. They played primarily for high school and college fraternity & sorotiy funcations, performing what is now known as "Beach Music".  In the early 60's, when this history was being bade (of which the EPICS were an integral part), they called it "Rhythm & Blues" and "SOUL" music.

In 1965, the EPICS evolved into a nine (9) piece "Show & Party" band, featuring five (5) horns along with a very talented rhythm section.  Their on-stage antics, choreography, and dynamic sound made them an instant favorite of the college fraternity circuit across the southeast.

Most of the guys have been with the group since their very first hit entitled "I've Been Hurt" was released nationally on CAMEO record label.
